The original was too (in the looks department). That’s not why we loved it.

What’s wrong is that this is what the Jalopnik commentariat has devolved into. We all used to be car fans but now all we do is bitch every time a company brings back an old concept because we think it can’t possibly recapture the magic we remember seeing through the rose-colored lenses of our youth. Not that it…
^THIS^ Everyone is looking back at the old Integra as if it wasn’t just an upgraded Civic with conservative styling and everyone is upset that it still is.
According to Honda the Si weighs 2906 lbs.
Where are you getting 180 hp? New Si makes 200 and weighs 2906 lbs. Sure the Acura might put on a couple lbs in the name of comfort, but not 300.
The current Civic Si (which this is based on) weigh 2906 lbs not 3200, so power to weight ratios will be quite similar, but the new car has 64 more lb/ft of torque and a much a much broader powerband, so it will easily smoke a GS-R off the line. But also remember this is obviously the base Integra. When the GS-R was…
Well, actually, that makes a ton of sense. Fair point.
The projectile will also need a kick-stage to get into an actual orbit
Valid point. Wealthy people are able to structure their personal assets as a business and take advantage of tax laws intended to encourage growth, something average Joes can’t easily do.
Agreed. No one makes an effort to pay taxes they don’t have to. Warren Buffet has, on numerous occasions, said he needs to be taxed more, but until he is, don’t be surprised to find that he makes prudent financial decisions.
Mail in a dick pic instead of a check?
Yeah, but even Safari bros would still add some over the top exoskeleton and a snorkel or something.
And that is why it’s basically a camp movie now.
My recollection is that the original IT was always considered a terrible movie (Curry’s performance notwithstanding).
I gotta admit, I’m surprised he did a safari build and didn’t at least build some sort of protection for it. No skid plate, no brush guard, nothin’. Makes no sense.
I think this is actually a bigger issue than people realize. Sure, stopping to charge more is annoying, but having to park and unhitch the trailer so you can charge trailer would make it far worse.
Well, that depends on how far you plan to tow. I live close enough to all the race tracks I take the Lemons beater to that the Rivian will do the job without a recharge. I’d probably have to plug in at Buttonwillow when I get there but 3 days plugged into the RV hookup would make that a not issue.
I’m seriously considering getting a short wheel-base, medium roof Ford Transit with a Quigley 4x4 conversion and doing a camper build. I figure that’ll get me big enough to want to camp in for a decent length of time, but small enough to actually be able to do some mild off-roading.
the Golf R Cabriolet cost £38,770. That translates to $51,500 by current conversion rates.
Even with 100% solar panel efficiency, there simply isn’t enough solar energy to be harvested using only the space available on a car. It might help, but not enough to make a difference while driving.
