Yeah it is definitely a short term move but what I find puzzling is that calls were already over $120 in the money so the options were very expensive. I get wanting full delta on the move but why not just buy the stock at that point?

Given Biden has aggressively campaigned on taking big action on climate change I don’t think this is a big deal. Everyone knows EVs are a part of getting off of fossil fuel. And let’s be real. Pelosi (or rather her investment advisor) is really late to the Tesla party.

That is starting to change with the home battery. With all the wild fire power safety shutoffs in CA there is significant demand for the Powerwall and Tesla has been raising the price on those accordingly.

Since the world is going to start transitioning to EVs (which are heavier than ICE counterparts and thus harder on roads), perhaps they should replace the gas tax with a national vehicle registration fee.
