Look, strange editors sitting behind laptops writing reviews is no basis for determining if a movie is worth watching. Supreme executive reviews are the purview of the viewer, not some farcical Germain Lussier.

I thought their portrayal was golden

My girlfriend is very much into the same nerdery I am, and the MCU in particular. She knows that late night Thursday first showings have been my thing since long before she and I met. Apropos of nothing, she says to me the other day:

I saw GotG Vol. 2 last night and I was pleasantly surprised how well Sly fit into the MCU. I know Marvel’s casting has been pretty much excellent throughout the last 15(!) movies, but I was slightly worried he’d stick out like a sore thumb. I was wrong.

I realize that might seem to be the reasonable response, but that’s the beauty of a character that’s been seduced to the DARK SIDE. Having the internal calm to identify the reasonable response is the Jedi way and is the antithesis of the Dark Side.

I feel really sorry for Ewan, he did the character justice, over came some terrible direction. Basically was the one bright spot in all of the prequels. He seems to love the character and the universe. But he also is only known in the universe for playing a version of a character in the Prequels. You know the movie

Oklahoma City’s fans were great when they had the Hornets for two years. They were under .500 both seasons and raised attendance from dead last in the NBA to more than 18,000 per game, 11th in the league. In the last two years in Seattle, the Sonics were 25th and 28th in attendance. They had only been in the top 20

Ya, I agree it sucks that the Sonics moved (I hate it when any team, especially one with a long legacy, is relocated).

Hey, some optimism for the character and the future of the series! I like that. Just because he is Peters friend doesn’t mean he can’t be Miles in the future.

That is an interesting possibility. Agent Coulson was supposed to be a throw away character after all. Marvel loves having an Everyman as the connection between its heroes. In the MCU it was Coulson, on Netflix it’s Claire, and in the comics it was often Rick Jones.

I would give a piece of my anatomy to see SilverHawks return...

The Captain America movies are hands down my favorite Marvel movies. Chris Evans is Captain America and there isn’t anybody that could replace him.

Chris Evans is such a staggeringly good Captain America — and Steve Rogers — that I really do hope that Marvel not only holds on to him for as long as possible, but does their damnedest to keep giving him good material. That’s one role I have strange feelings about re: recasting.

Side note: he had totally been to school before. Mainly all-boys private schools, so it would be fair to say he’d never had the experience of a US high school, but they’ve written this like he’d never before meet another human teenager, which, no.

No, by not employing the same cheesy stunts...oh wait, never mind

Don’t you get the impression that all of io9 decided to hate this show a long time ago?

Yet, when compared to the other Netflix shows, to me at least, the drop off in quality is not that severe.

It’s certainly not perfect, but it also isn’t the dumpster fire some people are making it out to be.

I enjoyed it. That’s not saying it’s perfect or amazing. But it I liked it. I hope there’s a season 2 and they have more time to prep.
