From what I played of the Beta, have seen of post release footage and seen of opinions of long time Destiny players, it seems to be aggressively average, part of the issue being they removed things they had done to improve Destiny 1 post release.

If they think it’s not worth it to run a legacy server for a small audience, then I’m inclined to trust them.

No, Blizzard of all people knows there’s almost no demand for legacy servers. Look at this project, the people only managed to steal $2000 because that was all that was donated. People flock to these servers because they can play the game for free, not because it’s got old, rusted content.

My relatively small city had no Fireside Gatherings so I created one myself. The application was accepted within a few hours and the meet-up is this Friday. As long as I get 3+ people attending, additional gatherings after that qualify as a Tavern. Not that hard.
