I’ve seen both sides of the aisle though so I’m fed up with these reactions. I’ve seen people (both family and friends) handle the toughest of news and pain of losing their closest family members with nothing but dignity.

I had a close family member slowly die in an NHS hospital due to complications from an error during a routine surgical procedure. I do feel sympathy for their plight.
