Wow, he was so young. I’ve never seen this show, but I just looked him up and one of the first news stories that came up from before today was an interview where Ellis criticized a former co-star for quitting because that actor didn’t want to play a gay character. That’s a stand up thing to do.

There were times where he was the only likable character on that show. How sad, he was so young.

Heatlamps will probably know better, but... In many states, (and I only know WA and MD, so) there is the concept of ‘contributory negligence’, which is exactly what you are asking about. If a plaintiff sues for negligence, but it comes to light that plaintiff contributed 51% or more to the liability of the accident,

“All that said, I don’t know how Florida works...”

It makes me sick how we’re all supposed to mindlessly buy into Daughter Dingus’ pathetic phony creation myth, like she’s anything more than a spoiled little airhead who owes everything she has to the money her awesome daddy swiped from other people. Look at her, sitting there with that moronic pucker on her plastic

She’s a black person. One with the audacity to be successful in business and sports. Who is also outspoken instead of properly “humble”.

...but a horrible way to collect traffic camera fines. Priorities.

You know why. Don’t play naive.

My parents lived in Florida and had an intersection exactly like this in front of their development. My dad would always turn right and make a u-turn a bit up the road just to avoid having to go into that traffic mess.

I’m a personal injury lawyer, unfortunately.

“Clearing the intersection” on a left-turn is my favorite driving maneuver so I knew immediately she wasn’t culpable. When the light turns yellow it’s your signal to enter the intersection, then when the oncoming cars stop you make your left turn. I sometimes practice traffic and accident law.

Because Florida’s roads are fucked-up deathtraps, and by the time police were done with this wreck, there were calls for another dozen collisions in town. They have to blame somebody, and can’t bother investigating things (anyplace else, it’d be inexplicable that it took so long for cops to “discover” this video).

The right on red people can be so dangerous if they only look for the traffic coming from their left and not pedestrians coming from the right.

I for one am taking this article and shoving it so far up the asses of those that gave me shit for preaching caution before rushing to judgment. It is very rare on the internet to be vindicated quickly enough to effectively rub it in the other person’s face.

Really looking forward to all the people who called her a killer in the last thread rushing in here to fall on their swords. One thing you can count on, it’s internet people who were motivated ONLY by their concern for traffic safety issuing heartfelt mea culpas and vowing to learn from their mistakes.

Hmmmm why would the police claim Venus Williams was at fault before they had even reviewed all the evidence...hmmm I wonder.

I blame the government. Who expects old white people in Florida to comprehend intersectionality?

So why was there a rush to say she was at fault?

Suck it, internet.
