My only “battle” is with the absolutism of the statements. Granted, this may be completely petty. Although, the script was leaked, so I guess if someone really cared they could prove it, but I’m not reading the script. I’m excited for this movie and don’t care if there are only a couple of settings or not.

I’m not saying it’s improbable that these are the only locations in the movie, just that we don’t know. Making assumptions based on the trailer is just that, making assumptions.

No, you can’t tell that. The trailer is less than 2 minutes long. The movie is probably around the 2 hour mark. Trailers don’t always give you a complete sense of what is in the movie and I’d say that only bad trailers show you the whole thing. So, yes, the trailer only showed those locations. But, no, that doesn’t

Absolutely this! I don’t have social anxiety issues, really, but adopting this mantra has given me much more interesting stories and made me happier. I find that even things I don’t really want to go to end up being a lot more fun than I thought and I’m almost always way happier that I went than if I hadn’t.

Well, yeah, without knowing the story it’s impossible to know if I would be sympathetic or not. So as Officer Barbrady would say, “Nothing to see here, move along.”

If I lost a friend because of a petty reaction to a harmless thing, I’d be annoyed, but I’d move on with my life. This smacks of hyperbole, but everyone is entitled to overreact, I suppose.

If I were at a restaurant with a friend and I knew they felt this way, I would do my damnedest to get the servers to the table as stealthily and secretly as possible. Just to watch them squirm.

See my reply to your first comment. Salted passwords are not impossible to crack. They just add another level of security.

Encryption takes a plain text password and turns it into unrecognizable text through a very well known and repeatable series of steps (think “divide by 15, add 2, multiply by 7, etc.). Since those series of steps can be repeated easily, people have created large tables of these encrypted passwords by taking lots of

I haven’t played in a while, but do you not get a new randomized player when you die?

If so, it would be trivial to die until you get something you want.

Could you expand on or give a link on the Chief Justice William Rehnquist’s estate comment? Google isn’t giving me anything.

I worked at a bank for 6 years and while this should work most of the time, there is no law about the cashing of old checks. It is solely the discretion of the person’s bank that you gave the check to. The bank I worked for had a policy of not depositing or cashing checks older than 6 months, but it was not set in

So...wait just a goddamn minute...how the fuck do you vet someone’s race when people self-identify their race and THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS RACE.

Serial isn’t a true crime podcast. It’s very likely that the next stories will not be about crimes. It’s just a real life story told over many episodes as opposed to the many stories told over one episode of This American Life. So think of Serial as a long format version of TAL.

Obvious troll is obvious.

How is this 46 terabytes of data? Assuming raw data at 64 bits per pixel (which raw is normally less than 48 bits per pixel from my short google session), that’s only 23.36 trillion bits which is 2.66 terabytes.

For a few years now I have had the dream of buying a used yellow school bus, ripping out the seats, and putting in bunks, storage, and my own seating. This wouldn’t be a typical RV, but more like a larger luxury travel van as there would be no kitchen, bathroom, or sink. Just a large, comfy means of travelling.

I was at a nice, fancy wedding reception. The groom was good friends with a local brewer and they had two half-barrel kegs of good, local beer. One was an IPA or Pale Ale, and it was delicious. I sat down after getting myself a beer and my girlfriend a glass of wine. We were seated at a large, round table and had been

Woah, woah, that is baseless claim. We don’t know yet what the point of this scene was. Since it was the last scene aired, we have yet to see what the repercussions are. You say that this was all about Theon because he was the only person we could actually see at that time. It is very conceivable, and even probable,
