Yes to all of this. Every review I read said that you come out of the theater at the end feeling energized and exhilarated. I felt more like "...Was that it?" 12 Years a Slave was just a better movie in every way.

I kind of wish I had seen Frozen too! Especially since I was with my sister at the time.

Not crazy at all...you're probably right. But I too hope you're wrong! :)

Well, that I didn't know. I stand corrected!

Me too. She was the best Anne Boleyn I've ever seen.

Right, because Laurie Simmons is such a household name, right? Of course being the daughter of a woman few people outside the art world have even heard of is enough to get you a show on HBO.

Whoa, you're right. They actually do look related.

I saw American Hustle yesterday. I liked it, but I really don't understand why it's received so much acclaim and won so many awards. I thought it was good but not spectacular. If it wins the Best Picture Oscar over 12 Years a Slave I will throw something at my TV.

I want to see Margot Robbie and Emma Stone play sisters in something. Is it just me, or do they look a lot alike? They even have similar voices.

Oh yeah, I would love to see Amy Adams win. She's so great in everything she does and was the best part of American Hustle. I feel like she's kind of "always the bridesmaid, never the bride" when it comes to the Oscars, so it would be nice to see her finally win.

I think Cate Blanchett will win.

I agree with your overall point, but I think Gosling broke out way before Drive, which was only a couple of years ago. I'd say his breakout role was arguably Noah in The Notebook - again, though, a very memorable character/film, like you said.

Are you friends with Melanie Lynskey?

When did they call her a whore?

I've seen differently, but maybe we're reading different interviews. In this one from NPR she seemed pretty clear that she's not trying to tell a universal story:

He said something like "Dying is easy, comedy is hard...I believe that was said by Shia LaBeouf."

I think she's always made it clear that the show is, as you said, representative of her own reality only. She's not trying to represent the lives of every young person or everyone who lives in Brooklyn.

Then don't watch.

I know, right? He has such a young face. I wonder what he'll look like when he's 40.

He's 26, so it's not too age-inappropriate. And really, you don't have to be near his age to have a crush on Zac Efron. You just have to look at his face.
