$300 for a console with weaker hardware than its competitors which sell at a lower price point, from a company coming off of an unabashed failure of a console cycle, with the most inept online support (which they now want to charge you for), and a long history of lukewarm third party involvement. If that sounds like a

I love Nintendo, I can’t stress that enough.. I would love to play Mario/Zelda for a few days! Once that’s over, what’s left to do though? I can get third party and brilliant exclusives elsewhere. Sure I’m missing Mario/Zelda/DK but looking at WiiU’s best100 (almost monthly!) I see absolutely nothing else I want to

I was talking about wii back in 2011. There were 90-94 million wiis in circulation back then and skyword sword sold 3.37-3.67 million copies depending on the source. I agree the new one is a big selling point for hardcore nintendo gamers, but that just isn’t as big of a number as people think. I was planning on

To be fair, Nintendo has kind of always been dicks and offer the least value

A single 20+ year old game that you can only play for a month? Holy shit, and I already thought PS+ was a rip off.

Oh boy a free game from the 80s every month!!!

Still looks bad. Look at the wording:

Subscribers get to download and play A NES or SNES game for free for a month.

A. As in, A SINGLE ONE. Probably chosen by Nintendo, and rolled each month.

*Shrug

Joy cons are $80. This is absurd.

Yes, but Xbox Live and PSN both work pretty well. Nintendo’s online systems are dumpster-tier.

The Pro Controller is 70 fucking dollars.

you’ve clearly never used nintendo online services. Just because other consoles charge it doesn’t make Nintendo’s service worth it

Watching the Nintendo Switch presentation is like watching an ex girlfriend who has so much potential but is totally making the same fucking mistakes over and over and you just want to shake them and tell them to stop.

...Nintendo has been online for two generations.

I have to agree with many of the other posters here. This is $50 more than an Xbox One or PS4. They just came off the failure that is the Wii U and they come out with this? What a joke.

It’s not their first online service, though. Just the first one they’re charging for. They’ve offered (really crappy) online services since the Wii.

really Nintendo? your online is totally inept and frankly pathetic. and now you’re locking it behind a paywall?

Not on the PC

It’s an unproven system, especially when the Wii U is a failure, they want to price it to the current systems and charge online with their online infrastructure being BY FAR the biggest piece of shit in online gaming.

Charging for online play is such a joke. These guys haven’t implemented a single positive online feature in the past decade. Unless they miraculously figured out how the internet works, they’re out of their minds if they think that I’m going to pay for their online services.
