I disagree. She had a huge hit in Dreaming of You. It was the crossover that would have helped her carry her name to parts of America other than Texas. Had she lived, she would have definitely been a household name after more hits. Either way, we'll never know what she could have been because of one crazy, thieving

This election got me like:

It’s also because we have such a limited understanding of how our brains work, that there isn’t a “cure” for false transmission signals like that, or much of anything considering the ways our nervous system can go haywire. Dealing with ‘external’ diseases, like having actual bugs in your skin, is much much much much

I think it has less to do with the stigma against mental health and more about the basic logic of how we conceptualize and categorize different sensations.

... and now we have Paleo

My sister is a nun who lives around and works with prostitutes in Detroit. She’s a bigger feminist than you’ll ever be. Of course, she too is guilty of being an older woman, like me.

Yea, I'd be pissed at the doctor who 100% should have known that they wouldn't accept that phrasing. I would think an oncologist would be up to date with the procedures.

That’s not remotely how public domain works.

LOL Kinja is bad at Kinda. Don’t worry about it. :P

I totally agree with you, and that’s pretty much what Atwood was saying. She plays it safe, and for good reason. Of course she isn’t out there wearing bubble dresses like Lady Gaga. I don’t understand why people think this was some sort of insult to Kate either. She isn’t fashion forward. She looks flawless at all

The implication being that Atwood is less famous than Middleton. This is probably true, and kind of a sad comment on what we value as a society. Nothing against Middleton personally but *sighhhhh*

I have this mental image of Kate receiving word that the queen has died and immediately turning to look at the meat dress she has hanging in a walk in freezer.

She was asked, point blank. She didn’t bring it up. The host asked her at the very end of the panel, and she answered honestly. She wasn’t attacking or criticizing, she gave a 10-second answer when asked a question and then moved on. Goodness gracious. I really doubt a rich as hell duchess needs the internet standing

I dunno. What did she say that was so bad? Kate dresses uneventfully? That’s true enough, and hardly a dis. I dress pretty uneventfully, and wouldn’t be overly bothered by Margaret Atwood bringing that up at a fashion and fiction panel. (You know, should the topic come up organically.)

She’s totally right, and I don’t think it was meant to be any kind of dig at Kate. It’s her job to dress in a non controversial manner.

People compare her to Diana to put her down but they both had completely different lives, Diana was born into a aristocratic family and Kate was not. Also i don’t like how this has been spun into her calling her basic or that on other sites they are calling it a diss, the media loves to do this between two women and

I am sure he is very aware of the quotas against Asians.

Why would he need to duplicate it? It isn’t like my social security number or my residence tell people what race I am. They definitely don’t cross reference that with Census data.

I’m super confused. What documentation would he need to make up to pull this scam? None of the items you mention have racial identifiers on them. His middle name is JoJo. If he looks black in the interview, what awkward white administrator is going to say, I am sorry sir, but I don’t think you are black?

He definitely realized that, hence pretending to be black instead of being Indian.
