Perhaps considering they were militaristic experimentation could have been the prime goal we know fusion ups power. But we have seen that fusion with 3 or more is sloppy. This was one of the darkest episodes. Homeworld took Rose's soldiers some of them and experimented on them. Also the true nature of the kindergarten is sinister no wonder Rose fought. Never seen Garnet so broken albiet briefly
