Meh. You’re going from one side of the globe to another. That’s a journey that’s going to take time, no matter how you slice it.

From late 2013 to last month I drove a Focus S five speed sedan. It was a rather good car, quite fun to drive, made with union labor in Michigan.
You make it sound like they’re flying from LA to NYC by intentionally going the wrong way around the planet. As you briefly mention, if you want to get from Straya to NYC for business or pleasure your other options are...still spending 20 hours in the air but landing once?
Most be nice.
My favorite part of the article:
Um...what you quoted simply addresses a recommendation that people who convert to EV keep their old parts safe and well-labelled.
I don’t actually think those statements are mutually exclusive/necessarily contradictory; people who care about american brands, in many cases, don’t care to look in to where the care is made and as long as it’s an american brand they think they are buying american when they are really buying mexican or whatever.
People bitch about the US’ useless licensing standards but I’d say it’s the near non-existent or politically driven traffic law enforcement. No need for strict licenses to get people to stop left lane camping/tailgating/doing stupid shit. We have laws on the books for that that just aren’t being enforced.
I have sparse experience with Autobahn, but in my book the main benefit is not to drive fast but to be able to hold a brisk pace without having to watch for cops constantly.
Everything I’ve ever read indicates that one of the major reasons this is even remotely possible is that getting your license in Germany is far more difficult than we can comprehend here in the US. Driving is still more privilege than right as it were. Also the police will bust your ass for left lane camping, either…
Cause Tesla’s CEO actually drives his own EVs. How many executives drive their companies EV? To them its nothing more than a checkbox.
Yes, and they will pick the worst standard, like they did in Europe.
Just weld the differential spider, you now have a spare output to hook up your PTO to.
Yes, a Jag with all the quality control issues and none of the V12 noise
Have a few Indian dudes with a contractor who get together each morning in a conference room to bitch about their many Model 3 problems.
You mean it would be bad, say in a computer that constantly updates buffers and pages software in and out? Like the flash memory in an SSD? Bring back punch tape.
If you’re single, making $120k gross, a $500k house is quite easy to afford. You’re grossing $10,000/month and have a $2200 house payment. Even a well-budgeted and fiscally responsible family of three can afford that.
I think that’s more related to crash standards than aesthetic but I agree.
I agree. I don’t think car buyers need to self-flagellate over things like oil consumption when gas prices are so cheap. Want people to not buy SUVs? Make gas more expensive.
As long as people can afford to (or at least believe they can afford to) buy SUVs, they will. We’re like a gas: we expand to fill a given space.…
I'm confused by this. How do you pick it up once you're in the vehicle? Do you just carry a large quantity and discard them like used condoms everytime you get in your vehicle?
