As an HVAC Tech, I use my phone’s camera to more easily view the trouble code LED or display inside of gas furnaces. The tiny window on the service panel is usually inconvenient to shove your face up against to see the blinking-code or digital readout, plus I can hit record and save a clip of it for my boss.
