Nope, the impasse (did you deliberately misspell it as imp ass?) is on both our "ends", since you refuse to acknowledge I am making perfect sense or, indeed, that I know how to use the English language.

Also, consider this: if Hannibal's sense of smell is that sensitive then he either must wear nose plugs when he takes a shite or he literally drops an olfactory H-bomb in there (for him).

How sweet that you looked it up.

We have reached ἀπορία.

It does make it like a kind of deus ex machina. I'm really sorry that you can't accept this, I truly am, but hopefully you can see past this incident and move on with your life.

A flaw in my reasoning?

An improvement on Clarice what with her bionic arm amirite?

I do know what deus ex machina means. It does not necessarily always refer to something which had not appeared before in the drama suddenly coming and saving the day. That was it's original meaning, yes, but then "nice" has a totally different meaning today than it did 150 years ago.

Yeah I've read/seen 'em all bar Rising (both the novel and film).

Will's encephalitis was the other thing. Those, for me, were ok since they were a thread in the overall tapestry. As I said in my little spiel I just felt him smelling Lounds was a bit too convenient, a bit deus ex.

Sigh… I had really enjoyed this show up until the point where Hannibal smelled Freddie Lounds' scent on Will and thereby realised his perfidy.

Sounds like you live in Dachau, or possibly Belsen.

In all honesty my initial gut reaction was that this was all a joke. I mean I laughed at this, I took absolutely none of it seriously and, indeed, as a Star Wars fan I found none of it offensive.

Is it pleasant being prone to psychotic episodes and divorcing yourself from reality? You engaged in personal insults first, madam, I merely retaliated after you sought to deceive.

I have no doubt that that is what you believe.

What a sanctimonious prig. I pity the poor individuals that have to share their existence with your angry little self.

Ortolans/buntings are not an endangered species, they're endemic throughout Europe.

It's force fed millet and/or other grains, and figs, which causes it to form a healthy layer of fat underneath its skin.

In the books Hannibal is portrayed as almost otherworldly, a being that isn't of our world and thus a little fantastical.
