I’ve had my pro controller since launch and it’s still in great shape. I have 2 new ones still in box that I haven’t needed to open because my current pro is holding up so well. I don’t think it gets said enough how comfy it is. I can’t think of many controllers that I’ve used for 3-4 hours straight without getting

It’s not quite as comfy as the Pro, but it’s a solid controller and beats the stuffing out of the Wii controller choices.

I’m a GameCube fanboy and I mostly agree with you. It was great for certain genres like fighting games and racing, but was horrible for anything that relied on 2 sticks, especially FPS games. Metroid Prime managed to working around this issue beautifully, but no one else did.

It’s fantastic. I’ve been playing a ton of JRPGs this year, pretty much all the big releases, and Chained Echoes broke into my top 3 within the first 5 hours. It’s so charming, and if you have any nostalgia for that 16/32 bit era, it absolutely nails it. Which is actually somewhat surprising because it borrows ideas fr

I pity people who can’t enjoy a game because they disagree with the aesthetic. Sure I prefer the more mature story telling, but visually I loved the colorful. Arabian inspired designs of FFTA/A2 and the gameplay is 90% the same with a few new mechanics and classes. I don’t understand how someone  can say FFT is a

What you describe is every Fire Emblem game before 13 lol. Come to think of it, there aren’t that many strategy RPGs with a lot of class customization outside FFT/TO.

The entire Netflix series isn’t good enough for me to care either way. The main series was mediocre, but as a Witcher 3 fan, it carried me through to 2 seasons just to see the characters and places I’d been to in the game. As much as I adore Michelle Yeoh, I had little interest in this spinoff unless they had some

You’d be forgiven, since it’s not a great show to begin with.

That honestly sounds like high praise as The Road is considered a masterpiece by one of the greatest living authors.

Stray won best indie game? The Game Awards really is just a popularity contest, huh?

There were several great JRPGs this year that should be on this list.

This list has a giant JRPG-shaped whole in it. At least one of Triangle Strategy, Live A Live, Pokémon Legends Arceus, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Tactics Ogre, or Chained Echoes should be on here. Yeah, yeah, opinions are subjective, but find me a person that thinks Ghostwire is better than all of the games I mentioned.

This is what annoys me about awards season, it always happens with several weeks or a month left in the year. I’m super glad you listed Chained Echoes. It’s fantastic, but it could’ve gotten way more attention from gaming outlets if it came out a few weeks earlier. And it won’t get grandfathered in to 2023 either, so

It’s absolutely fantastic. Easily on my top 10 and I actually bounced off Tactics Ogre to play through the whole thing first.

Gameplay wise, I completely agree. A2 is an absolute blast even if the story is a let down.

Arm the drag queens. I’m dead serious.

I have the Neo Geo MVS mini and it’s awesome, especially if you’re a fighting game fan. Only knock is the retro controllers you can buy for it are a tad too pricey and it needs an HDMI mini capable if you want to play on your TV. It’s looks pretty good on the big screen too . and it supports 2 controllers! My bff is a

Because it’s a dud. Reviews are not good, audience score is abysmal. Disney probably did the math and realized they should cut their loses.

You have to remember, a disproportional percentage of these sales numbers are little kids who don’t have very high standards or do their due diligence. They see an ad, tell their parents, and they ask the guy at target to grab it off the shelf. And they certainly don’t know how to vote with their wallet.

It’s less that the Switch can’t handle the game, and more likely that GameFreak did a shit job optimizing it. The system can run open world games like BotW, Xenoblade 3 and the Witcher 3 with minor hiccups and they look less dated than Scarlett and Violet. The problem is and always has been that, for whatever reason,
