I shoulda checked the comments before posting. I second The Act of Killing. Just chilling on an existential level. 

Not horror in any traditional sense, but The Act of Killing gave me a sense of despair like I’ve never felt.

I’m a game design teacher and one of the assignments I do is making a magazine ad for whatever game they’re creating. This is one of the examples I show them. I love it’s simplicity, yet it does such a great job of drawing your attention while capturing the dread of the game. 

I can’t be the only one who thought “Yeah, I probably would” after Yennifer’s first sex scene when she was still a hunchback.

Not at all, but there really isn’t much of a choice unless they give it to a new studio or have changes in the higher ups. I honestly have more faith in indie devs who make homage games like Eiyuden. 

Honestly, I wish some of these franchises had the balls do a retro revival like Mega Man did with 9 and 10. I’d love a new Valkyrie Profile or SO done in the 2D sprite in 3D worlds style again. I’m actually pretty excited for the DQ3 remaster, and I’ve never played the original.This game though, looks ugly.

Seriously, how can they rerelease first departure R and not Second Evolution? It would easily sell better given the original SO2’s clout among JRPG fans. I was waiting for it for the past few years, but eventually caved and played it on emulator. Would love to have it on Switch.

I was directed to replay SO2 after asking around Reddit if IaF was worth a shot. Mind you I had just beaten the PSP remaster of SO2 lol. 

God I hope Star Ocean 6 is decent. I recently played SO2 and 3 within the past year and would love for another good game in the series.
