And every time a new study comes out PROVING Wakefield wrong I can't help but wonder, How many of those minds would have been put to better use working on new cures/vaccines rather than proving yet again that Wakefield is a damn fraud?

I hate hearing that from people who think they're being practical without realizing that the individuals who are targeted for this sort of behavior often have mental illnesses or personality disorders as well as unstable living conditions and financial support that make it difficult to just up and leave abusers.

There is no manner in which it would be appropriate to ask such a question.

Me too... she has enough to worry about without blaming herself for what happened to her.

After I ignored my neighbor's screams and found out later that she'd been put in the hospital for domestic violence injuries, I vowed to never mind my own business again when it comes to that sort of thing. I've checked on other neighbors over the years when I thought it was necessary. We need to look out for each

She didn't actually agree, she was abused into agreeing. That is different.

He's an abusive asshat that "wanted to be her master". I'm sure pretty she was forced into "agreeing" to the slave rules... right down to the collar.

When police asked her why she didn't leave him earlier, she stated that 1) she loved him and that 2) he took care of her—Harden controlled her diabetes medication and never taught her how to use her insulin pump.

I'm no lawyer but I'm willing to bet "Slave Contracts" are not actually legally binding so the terms don't really matter do they?

I don't remember where did I hear it, but, it's true that vaccines in the US aren't free?

Nice xenophobia you've got there. Do you have any evidence that undocumented immigrants are more likely to carry these diseases. The majority of undocumented immigrants in this country are from Latin American countries which have high vaccination rates.

Porous borders? Do you know anyone who has legally immigrated to the United States? Because just to go for your visa interview you have to be fully immunized and have a clean bill of health. Sick or non vaccinated people are not being handed visas and given the go ahead to stroll into America. The US has higher cases

You fail to understand the simple key word of "stop." See, "stop being a fucking idiot" doesn't actually mean "double down on your complete fucking idiocy, you total fucking idiot." Not that I expect anything different from a fucking idiot who uses the word "liberal" like an insult.

The worst parts of all of this, aside from the fact that he endangered the lives of many people in the UK, are that he was banned from practicing medicine in the UK, moved over to America where he became a vocal member of the Anti-Vaxxer movement and has only bolstered their beliefs, and all of his original claims

I'm a rubella baby. The vaccine wasn't around when my mom was a kid, she never had the shot as an adult, contracted rubella while pregnant with me. The result is a few minor birth defects and a massive heart defect for which I had to have surgery at 2. And I'm one of the LUCKY babies.

Oh, here it is. You're actually a racist xenophobe.

BZZZZT. California specifically allows exemptions for beliefs. Literally anyone can check that box on their child's registration and have them sit next to your kid.

Works for me. I almost died when I was 2 from whooping cough, and it left me with health issues for another 10 years. Antivaxxers can fuck off.

Vaccines do not always have a 100% efficacy rate. Polio and measles vaccines are, IIRC, about 99% effective, which means you can eradicate the disease from a good deal of the population via vaccines and the other 1% will receive herd immunity as the disease will lack the hosts that can effectively spread it.

So yes,

The UK has already seen the consequences of anti-vaccination.
