This might seem harsh (or hilarious) but we should all have this confidence when spending a lot of money on something.

Great sales people can sell anything. I worked with one who sold tools. All he needed was 2 or 3 selling points and he was good to go. He sold thousands of tools and probably never picked up a wrench in his life.

as a former sales person, most ( but not all ) make up 'facts' about the car on the spot. And from personal experience, the only expert advice I believe them on is where to buy the best blow.

I've found that if you really want to know something about a vehicle, especially potential issues, talk to the service guys.

The reckless driving charge was probably a result of him doing the burnout while hammered drunk and very close to other vehicles.

You don't think it was reckless to do a burnout, in traffic, while drunk? Really?

Given the close proximity to that many other cars, it's not an unreasonable charge.
