Class insecurity.

Ohhhh, is that the way it works? Like those pay-it-forward Starbucks deals, kind of? OK, that seems less scammy, then.

Thank you. Finally. A sane person. Our friends’ finances and tipping habits are none of our business. Good lord. Were these heathens raised by wolves?

I’m local to DC. It’s been sickening since the shutdown started, but esp. last week when the first $0 paychecks went out, and they were listing all of the locations where Giant was giving free groceries to affected families. Local foodbanks have relaxed their income restrictions. Hundreds of people have signed up to

Unless, of course, you happen to live in Kentucky.

In that case, your senator literally does not give a FUCK about it. Maybe stop sending him back to the hill, you morons...

Looks like it’s not a 6 pack of 12 oz bottles, but rather 6 16oz pours. 7.50 for a DC Brau is not out of the ballpark.

Yeah, this is right on. I think many gay people like myself don’t really give much of a shit either way if Kevin Hart hosts the Oscars, nor are we really much interested in an apology. Most of us get that comedy is not real life (no matter how offensive - or worse, unfunny - it is). But it’s infuriating that Hart is

If the straights take away the Oscars, we gays will take away the Super Bowl.

The idea that you can’t vilify someone who is both a victim and a perpetuator of patriarchal beauty standards is asinine, especially when the people are peddling dangerous fraudulent diet products. She’s not vilifying them for being women but for adding to their followers’ body image issues and begging comparison to

Or you and the 1000 other people could just empty the one bag into the recycling bin and throw away the bag instead of having the waste management company hire a guy to cut open and empty 1000 bags of recycling.

Then put your recycling in paper bags. They’re available at most/all grocery stores in lieu of plastic. And since the bag is recyclable, you’re good to go.

Not a vet so I’ve been keeping the same sentiment to myself... Honestly it seems like the whole vet worship thing is more a way for people to say “look at me, I’m more American than you cause I love the troops more”

You can bring it down in bag. I do. I just don’t knot the bag and instead upend it into the bin. I reuse my bag as well since it’s just sitting in a smaller bin in my apartment most of the time, being filled with clean products to recycle.

To be fair, WWII was the last conflict that fought for American’s freedoms.

Can’t anyone do something good without being prodded/shamed to do more?

“In fact, shouldn’t this practice be widespread?”

That one really bugs me. How long does it take your lazy ass to tear open a garbage bag when dumping your recycling? I see this at my place all the time, they watch me walk up with a garbage bag and upend it or tear it open then walk away with the bag, scratch their head, and toss a full bag in there instead because

How do people not know this? It says it on every recycling pamphlet and website ever. And yet, whenever I have guests over while enjoying pizza, inevitably someone is going to put that box in my recycling after I asked them to let me take care of it.

If you are composting at home, sure - in large part because things like food oils and meat, etc. attract pests such as rats. Composting programs (such as the one mentioned in the article) are geared to handle / deal with much more that what is recommended one puts in their home compost bin. Where I live we have yard
