Agreed, part of what makes characters like Stan work for me is the way those around them react. As great as the rants are, they need Evie and Denise to balance their harshness and skewed perspective (particularly Evie—Janet Varney is an amazing straightman).

Definitely a middling episode at best, but I'm here for McGinley and Varney (I'm a big JV fan) and they both delivered exactly what I wanted from them, so I'm on board for the rest.

I gave this and Conviction a shot, both based on the strength of the lead actresses, and both received the same (C+) grade here.
