@Uncle Bo: Probably is. My F100 has a granny gear. That thing exists for one reason only: Massive, tire-smoking burnouts. I love it.

When you never spend more than $3000 on a car, the definition of "trouble free" has to be expanded a bit. My old '93 Chevy K1500 W/T lived by the old adage, "GM cars run badly for longer than most cars run at all." Got in an even trade for a pos Olds under-Achieva.

@skaycøg: All the Mayback P. Diddy could diddle, if P. Diddy could diddle a Maybach.

@skaycøg: How much Maybach did P. Diddy did, if P. Diddy did do a Maybach?

@brandegee: My old neighborhood in Brooklyn was a dumping ground for late-model stolen cars. After the stripping, they would be dragged into an alley and set ablaze. We used to play "name that car" forensics for fun after they cooled off.

@superveloce: Apparently you haven't been with us long enough.

God damn it, I'm an artist, but brush strokes on an $8k car is automatic crack pipe no matter how you swing it.

Corduroy seats....mmmmmmmm.

See, what they SHOULD have done is kept the roof lying around somewhere and just duct taped it back on for the winter. What could go wrong?

@T5Killer: I've always liked those. Thought about buying one from a friend, but they rust like a Fiat. No-go here in MI.

@vf34wrx: I have that very car. A '94 wagon with a slushbox. Quick and fun it is not, but $400 and utilitarian, it is.

Not only do I look forward to weekend Jalopnik, I have actually used one of your tutorials! Thanks to #17 (the hidden car stereo), I finally have something to listen to in my old Chevy truck other than the sound of rusting metal and leaky exhaust. I decided to spare no expense with the amplifier selection and

My roommate was looking for a cheap car a few years back (2003?) and we happened upon a near-mint '88 Reliant in Manhattan that had 50k on the clock. It had belonged to an old man, and we bought it off his son for $500. Being a NYC car it needed shocks and brakes immediately, but after that it ran like a champ. I

@bdon: I've refrained from asking you this question on some of your previous posts, but I can resist no longer: do you perhaps have a meth problem?

@Turbineguy - now with reheat!!: I know, I have a 360 big block in my '68 F100 that was a mid-range size/option back in its day. I can barely pull the 75lb intake manifold off by myself.

@ErikElCamino: But the '10 GT doesn't have the 5 liter, it's still running the 4.6 . I think you mean a wrecked '11 GT drivetrain.

@tonyola: A friend in college had one of those, handed down from the grandparents. With the buttoned velour interior, it looked and smelled like a seedy Japanese love hotel. Not that I would know.

@Earl_of_Gumout: Home invasions and crime in Detroit have been on an ebb and flow cycle my entire life. Growing up in the 80s in Rosedale Park, I remember the rash of break-ins well. Then it better, now its getting worse. It will get better again, and honestly, the only place I've ever been robbed at gunpoint was

@Ben Wojdyla: As someone that is currently restoring an $8k mansion north of Boston Edison, I say come on down! I've lived in a lot of places, and as strange as it may seem, I've never loved a city, neighborhood, block or house more.
