Wait, there's actually a San Dimas in California? I always thought that was a fictional city created for Bill & Ted. Anyway, love the car, hate the trans, but could never drive it here in Detroit. There would be a running competition between the road salt and SUV drivers to see who could kill the car quicker.

Its a lot of money for a car that was a POS even back in 1977, but my dad drove an '80 Aspen Sedan in P***y Repelling Tan back in the day, and I still have fond memories of sticking to the striped vinyl/cloth seats and blasting the AM-only radio. This one is pure luxury compared to that, nice price.

This thing reminds me of the Chinese made minivans I used to see running around Beijing in the mid-Nineties. I think they were loose ripoffs of the first gen MPV, only with terrible build quality and even worse stamping. You could see the 50's era soviet truck chassis trying to kick its way out from under the body,

@Sarcasmo - will work to get out of auto industry: Yeah, but Buicks were the ultimate luxury car in China before the Revolution, so to them its like the last 50 years of crappy LeSabres and Park Avenues never happened. The brand still has cache.

Jesus, third time's a charm?

They're hubcaps not wheels, but my dad had these on his '90 Lumina and they were just hideous. I remember him showing me them in the brochure before he picked up the car, and I told him they were crap. Eventually they were stolen when the car was parked outside the Detroit Science Center, so he replaced them with

@dolo54 blows minds and blows engines!: I too had a $320 towing bill from NYC, half of it was the ticket, and half was the towing/impound fee. After a year, they ACTUALLY refunded the ticket cost, but wouldn't give me back the towing/impound fee because I had lost the my receipt in the subsequent year. As if they'd

I agree on the lite brite grill, although I can't remember the last time I saw one with a full smile. That thing used a ton of expensive bulbs that were a bitch to replace. Matter of fact, I can't remember the last time I saw one of those cars running under its own power...

@Gearhead_42: Not sure what the new one is, but it used to be a last-gen regal with slightly modified front fascia and tail lights. Some came with a 2.0L turbo instead of the six. My dad had one in Shanghai for a while, and though it was nicer than any stateside Regal, the good ole 4-speed slushbox pretty much took

Any FWD Buick Lesabre. Big, comfortable, HUGE trunk and over 30 MPG at 80+MPH. They're also cheap, have the reliable 3800 and parts are readily available. Plus, if they speak French, they'll be wondering why the hell anyone would name a car "The Boy."

2001 Saturn SL2, spent a week in LA with it. Incidentally, I was 21 at the time, and enterprise was supposed to charge me an extra 10 bucks a day or something for being under 25. When I turned the car in, they forgot! Anyway, I took the car up the PCH and back as fast as the little four-banger would take me. I
