got a little too liberal and now Fox is having her re-programmed into believing women are baby-making bimbos who are just supposed to look nice and shut up
I don’t know, there have been a surprising number of 60-70 year olds in my life who have told me how much they just LOVE Ben Carson. And, I feel like they’re saying it to me proudly, like their 30-something liberal relative/friend should give them a cookie because they don’t support Donald Trump. My mother-in-law was…
I haven’t watched in like 3 years. But back when I did, I remember thinking her boobs had gotten huge. It made her look so heavy because she’s so petite. It was probably a good thing she did. They must have hurt!
Very good point. But if you change it to pushing off a two-story building and replace the baby with a grown woman, I wonder what the answer would be. Because that’s what the abortion debate comes down to. It’s not really important whether a fetus is a baby, but whether a fetus is more important that the woman.
Honestly, I’d respect him more* if he said that. “I used to believe fetal tissue research was fine, but now I realize it’s an abomination” is a terrible position, but at least it’s a defensible one. “Fetal tissue research is an abomination, but it’s okay when I do it” is not.
I support her wholeheartedly in her decision. I wish there wasn’t any backlash or assumptions made about her sexuality because she’s 15 years old (gross!) & American society can’t handle sex properly. Too sexy or not sexy enough? Make up your damn mind, sexism!
My friend sent me something the other day that I have been thinking about a lot. I don’t typically put any stock in stupid thought exercises presented in meme form or on tumblr, but this one was very interesting. Thoughts??
A favorite of Republicans, especially in re “sexual morality.”
“There are extenuating circumstances. I’m a hypocrite and also a moron.”
Do you listen to the words that are coming out of your mouth? [I know the answer to that is no, but still!?]
yea, but it’s different, because, reasons.
There were extenuating circumstances...I wasn’t running for president back then.
The second sentence makes it sound like he opened the lab fridge and found an unclaimed lunch bag.
It’s quite possible that he flip-flopped changed his mind on the issue. Probably about the time when he got into politics. And if he was doing research involving fetal tissue, it almost certainly came from an abortion.
The old “I’m against this, but it’s okay if I do it” routine.
“To willfully ignore evidence that you have for some ideological reason is wrong. If you’re killing babies and taking the tissue, that’s a very different thing than taking a dead specimen and keeping a record of it.”
On the gawker post, the top comment is a guy who was in solitary confinement for two weeks and he talks about how it was actual torture, and you lose track of time, and how it really fucks with you.
Massively overused in the U.S., it’s estimated that 80,000 prisoners are held in solitary on any given day.
