@paintbox: amen!
all of you know...startup/boot time all depends on the OS overhead and IPL. load an older OS on newer hardware...BAM!
i've already resigned myself to the fact that I must save these sites in a folder called "Lifehacker Recommended Sites to View Later!"
this may sound ridiculous, but my TV entertainment only contains broadcast DTV. i don't have or want satellite or cable. internet service is via DSL. it serves my purpose!
@shift_nismo: interesting thought. if the battery is not in the machine it can't be charged or discharged, although it would very slowly discharge over a long period of time.
@zombies.like.lattés.too: i guess it's a good thing people aren't interviewed to be president of a country like the US, in which, one MUST be a citizen to hold the job!
I wish Wendy's would post their calorie counts at the drive-thru. today i ordered a chicken BLT salad, thinking I was doing a good thing...NOT! I just checked their web site. I could have ordered a jr. bacon cheeseburger and small fries for $3 less and 50 fewer calories!
@planetarian: i've always installed it as an addition to my other security applications. i just haven't seen that it actually did anything.
i'm not real interested in the sandwich story but some of the other stories on their web site are hilarious.
@William BJ Dibbern: I agree. I've installed Defender on a number of systems and don't think it ever caught a single threat. I hope MSE provides better protection.
@wjglenn: i suspect you are right.
my tv and computer are both on when i'm home and not sleeping (somtimes even when i am) even though i may not be paying attention to either one.
I have some solar powered landscape lights installed around my house. I'm going to try the "filters" idea on them.
I do a lot of personal services work. My clients always pay by check. They prefer it and I certainly don't mind.
OF! i can't get my free gmail!
i used to be really intersted in this. i will save the link in case i forget how to figure this stuff out.
@AliShaikh: gigl
my local police have begun using a handheld, instant-on, laser to detect speed and has a visual scope with camera. not only do they clock your speed in a fraction of a second with the laser, the device also takes a snapshot of you and your passengers to see if all are wearing their seatbelt.
i luv pandora. i've never run upon the 40 hr restriction. if i ever do i guess i would up the cash. it's worth it!
