From the Jalopnik (Truck Yeah) article posted today about the new Land Rover Defender:

Brave Fencer Musashi > Tesla's Atari games.

I brought my Model 3 to a rural car show over the summer. A local deputy sheriff who was happily directing traffic leaned in and asked if it was a Tesla - it was the first he’d seen in the flesh. I said that it was indeed, and asked him if he wanted to take it for a spin.

Lol.

I think the problem here is that you can’t actually market this thing to people who don’t know about cars. There’s no wool-pulling. It’s not like the Urus (I finally have an excuse to drive a Lambo!) or some heritage-laden tweedmobile (Careful with the Jag, darling).

Lots of car names became famous to normies for

this this this! haha

Amy Pascal: WHO CARES, HE’S GONNA BE WITH VENOM NOW! WE’LL NEED ANOTHER TANK OF LOBSTERS!

I know I’m in the minority but I agreed with the call. Vettel made a mistake and had regained control of the car before heading back on to the racing line to block Hamilton. If you haven’t regained control of your car you don’t go back to power which Vettel clearly did.

You sound like someone who definitely knows their stuff. But if you are going to keep some M cars from the generation like we do, what are you going to keep and care for like say, E30 M3 cars? At least you keep one of these. For us, one is an S54 M Roadster of this variety. Sub frames are fine btw. They don’t all

Excellent and amusing essay from a former owner like myself. :-)

I think it might have been Rian Johnson in a hot mic moment.

What’s really fucked up here (or should I say, has the potential to be...) is what they calculate the residual value of the leased models at.

Yes they can. They if they are renting them out for private viewing (and the customer agrees that this is for private use), they can do as they like. This was a big deal in the 80's with the rise of video rental stores. It was ultimately determined that you are allowed to rent out a physical product without issue.

Who can buy one? She…can.

Kristen, I’m disappointed. That’s much closer to Takumi and his AE86 (granted his is a Trueno not a Levin) and Takeshi Nakazato in his R32.

Careful. The goal of one scam I heard about is to get you to say “Yes” so they can record it and use it nefariously (eg. to open a CC).

It looks like Snoopy projectile vomiting.

So you’re saying “Mosquitos don’t kill people; mosquito-borne illness kills people?” I’ve heard something like that before somewhere...

I am completely fine with revenge porn attacks for Sandy Hook deniers.
