I dislike the bulbous nose. Seems like you’d be driving blind on really curvy roads because of how it obstructs your view.

Buy the old school 850 for $20,000 and bank the difference for maintenance. that car was gorgeous 30 years ago and still is.
That’s not a bad thing necessarily but your point is valid - it really doesn’t look 6 figure exotic. It reminds of the i8, very interesting until you hear the price then you start listing all the cars you’d rather have for that money.
Shocked! Who knew and when did they know it?
Oh right... BMWs used to be attractive.
Ouch, too many beautiful pics in your comment. My heart can only take so much!
It’s obvious why it’s a dud. It’s boring for a flagship.
Perhaps making your flagship GT look exactly like the rest of your lineup wasn’t the best idea. Who wants to spend $155k on something that looks like a 4 series coupe? That and offering an M5 with the same powertrain, four doors, and a way lower pricetag doesn’t make this real compelling.
The last time they went 6-> 8-Series they introduced a new platform with a V12 which replaced a dated 15 year old platform. This was back in 1990, btw.
I sat in one of the new 8 Series at the Auto Show last year. It was nice but not 155K nice. Of course I went home from the Auto Show and continued putting the new Transmission in my vintage BMW 850 which cost orders of magnitude less.
I’m legitimately more stoked for the doubleheader-NASCAR/INDY weekend July 4th. Assuming it actually happens, this is the first time both series have raced at the same track on the same weekend, ever.
Depending on you’re size/weight; 125 basically top out near 60mph, this one maybe a little less.
Perhaps the message was: “Drive this car and social distancing will take care of itself. No one will want to be near you.”
Jesus, we’ve all fallen for it. BMW’s gotten what they wanted - we’re all talking about their stupid tweet!
They should’ve had the new 4 series wearing a massive N95 to hide its nose for the ad.
Must be the same people who ruined the logo.
No BMW, flattening the curve is not about cornering performance.
