Anyone who thinks Agents of SHIELD was boring gave up before episode 17. Not that I blame you — it was almost as though the plot arc was "do nothing until Winter Soldier comes out and then become the best action show on TV."

Given the way it skips around in time, I'm not sure the sequence you watch True Detective in matters much. It's a pretty good example of weird fiction, where mood is everything, plot is relatively insignificant. Matthew McConogonogonaghaugey's performance is what really holds it together, anyway.
Saw the DVD of Catching Fire, which was better than I expected (and somewhat better than I recall the novel being).
