Mmmm, I don’t know about that. The NSX was also a long time coming, which killed a lot of the hype, yet, the NSX is still a pretty good car and a head turner. Even though the hype died down, the NSX is still a solid choice for someone with the funds.

I think like Toyota, this car is taking a design direction that will make it look better to the naked eye rather than the camera lens.

Nissan is doing the best Mitsubishi impersonation I’ve seen yet! Which is based on Mitsubishi’s impersonation of Isuzu.

And unless I could afford a GT-R, you’d be hard pressed to get me to buy a Z over any of it’s competitors.

Reading that it seems like most of the issues and concerns are around higher power builds with boost. It sounds to me like it doesn’t become a serious concern until you start pushing higher power and temperatures. 

Personally I’m not holding my breath for an MR2 successor, I doubt it’s ever going to happen.

The only way I could ever see Subaru building a rear engine car is if they decide to team up with Toyota to build an MR2 successor to replace the BRZ/GT86. I never see Subaru doing this on their own.

Subaru barely knows what to do with the BRZ, its joint venture with Toyota, a sports car we think is perfectly fine as-is but has never received the power bumps or turbo engine the masses demanded.

If you have to fit two car seats, it’s not going to be your dream car unless your dream is very depressing.
