The Veloster N genuinely has my attention as a potential new DD.

I’m guessing you rented the Swift through Rent4Ring, I drove one there last year for 4 laps and absolutely loved it. You’re right, it had crazy amounts of grip. Like a giant go-kart. Even though I know it was significantly prepped over a stock one, the

It’s heavy for sure but heavy doesn’t necessarily mean super leaden to drive. The Swift I was driving felt much more planted, for instance, thanks to how it was set up.

Buy a Chevrolet SS

Whoa. You’ve stumbled upon something mind-blowing. It’s almost as if this car wasn’t targeting the demographic of people who need more horsepower to ENJOY a car! *GASP!*

FWIW, I get 34 highway at 78 MPH in my BRZ... which is rated at 30 highway... and that rating is probably at a much more fuel-efficient 55 MPH. So... yeah, I’m getting significantly better mileage than what it says on the sticker. And that’s on not perfectly flat highway, with occasionally angry acceleration when

You are talking about beefing up just about every part of the driveline so the parts last to warranty standards. You are talking about most likely new crash testing and certification to see how the new engine effects crashes. You are talking about many tiny R&D modifications which then go on down to the assembly line.

Care to explain why it was not enough power, and what you replaced it with that was enough power?

1. Mostly likely with both of those cars they went into production with those motors as planned options. So alot of the R&D was done with having to accommodate those engines as well as the base motors. Also, Pontiac is no longer with us so I think we know why they “could”. This is not me saying it could not be done,

I think people have lost perspective on car prices. All I see in comments on every car is how expensive it is now. Do you realize that 32,500.00 is the same as a 19,995.00 car in 95?

That has been fixed long ago. A simple tune and header and its gone, plus as a side benefit you get more power that you so badly want.

Clearly being nice has not worked, people have been saying the same idiotic bs for years now.

THAT’S NOT HOW THIS WORKS! THAT’S NOT HOW ANY OF THIS WORKS!

Off to copart looking for FRS/BRZ/GT86's.

That is true with any car, save some money and buy a used one.

I don’t want to reply to suhproblems and bring him out of the greys but they are the kind of people that I am talking about. Idiots.

Anyone thinking it was going to get a Turbo in this generation was a complete idiot anyways. Toyota teamed up with Subaru because of cost savings....you know what doesn’t save money? R&D for a new engine mid-cycle.

This is just to remind everyone that the 86 is meant to be a modern AE86, and it is WAY faster than the original. Anytime I start to think my tS is slow, I get in my AE86, and rediscover that the modern 86 is faster than the Supra turbo I had in college, more than capable in daily traffic, and has enough power for the

BRZ.

Hideous hatchbacks.
