Actually he's had at least five clear wins.
- Stealing the Mothership
- Stealing the nuke and having Anthony build a battery for the Mothership
- Saving his brother from anaphylactic shock
- Recruiting Emma for her intel and as a second pilot
- Thwarting Anthony's plan to blow up the Mothership

She could give it to Flynn's mother before he's born with instructions to give it to him if anything ever happens to his family…

She could presumably break the cycle by burning the empty journal, but that would make for a boring story arc…

INDEED! That's why he looked familiar!

That and the fact that he had secret families with three women (two of them sisters) in Germany in the 50s, kind of settles the case of whether or not he was a douche bag.

That would have been a truly epic line!

This was a very good episode - a solid A. The writing is coming together well in this series and as we travel the long story arc some early elements are coming back into play and revealing their relevance.

Yet you felt compelled to comment…

He could be Billy.. er, Mister The Kid!

Uh, you know the show is a work of fiction and the writers have taken much poetic license, right?

Interesting idea. I'm sure if she went to Tesla and said she had future tech he could take apart and re-engineer it would send him on very new paths of research. A lot of what we use now is based on principles he came up with, so he would be able to leapfrog to new inventions.

All valid points, especially when it comes to cost. And I suppose sitting in a cabin for a decade would start to get boring after a while…

Another thought… Since Flynn can't go to a time where he's already been, he could pluck surrogates from the timeline and drop them off to do his bidding in another era.

Yeah, I'm sure there are smartphones in China that already have the logo. You're probably right to assume the folks in Cupertino wouldn't think it's too funny.

I thought the same thing. He has to be running out of henchmen by now since Wyatt has been killing them with regularity. Maybe that's what drove him to enlisting Jesse James' help. He could certainly have found less volatile guides to help him find Emma's cabin.

Possibly, but I'm still pretty sure he's playing the ends against the middle. I think we can count on Mason to ultimately do what's good for Mason.

I liked the Jesse James portrayal as well. I'm sure he was more like Billy the Kid than Robin Hood.

Yes, at some point I want to see the logo on the computers to be a pear with a bite out of it, or see everybody sipping Diet Moxie and driving steam-powered cars. Seemingly trivial things that indicate the effect of all the timeline tweaking.

Now if they can just let him put his fencing skills to use!

I think the writers are hitting their stride now. I look forward to more episodes of this caliber.
