Read the second sentence please. The Fourth Estate, meaning the free press, is there to be a means for keeping the government honest. That's why it's first in the Bill of Rights.
The relationship between government spokesmen and the press is meant to be adversarial. The Fourth Estate's job is calling government on its B.S. - that's how it's supposed to work. The press asks hard questions, the spokesman makes the press work for the answers and tries to steer the narrative.
I'm not generally a fan of remaking classic Sci-Fi movies.

Also, I watched "Interstellar" again Friday and was totally going over the physics in my head as the event horizon in this episode came into view. I really liked the quick, dirty and totally accurate explanation the Doctor gave on how gravity affects time-space. Fundamental Einstein. Nicely done.
