I liked that too. He even drew glasses on Superman to prove he was really Clark Kent. I'm just not sure he got that Clark is the disguise.

The Christmas Specials pretty much have to be written for a wider audience. A lot of people watching it are not regular Doctor Who viewers. It's kind of like Superbowl Sunday. It's a social event, so you have many viewers who wouldn't watch a football game otherwise.

True. The Christmas Specials have to stand alone for the most part. Many people see these episodes because of family but don't generally follow the series every week. They have to be light by necessity.

Valid questions all!

Nice work. I never thought of that. That explains why she never figured out who he really was until he really wanted her to.

I agree that any shortcomings with the Twelfth Doctor (since nobody seems to count the War Doctor) are due to writing, not Peter Capaldi's portrayal.

He looked like Beaker.

Yes, they really went to pains to make sure we all understand the Doctor looks like Lobus Caecilius. No mention has ever been made about any resemblance to Frobisher.

True dat. Forgot that Captain Jack might not really care to see that face again, even if it is pasted on a friend

That was sarcasm…

I mean, what have we got to lose?

Just the time between the Christmas Specials.

I agree. Nardole seems to be the more grounded personality, while what little we've seen so far of Miss Bill is she is digging the adventure, i.e., impulsive. The two together would make great counterweights to the Doctor's general "I'm the smartest so I should be in charge" attitude. I'm guessing one or the other, or

I agree that the only thing that made this a Christmas Special was that young Grant mistook the Doctor for Santa. That aside, it was a very enjoyable episode.

Part of the delay in getting this show made was negotiating the streaming rights. It;s totally possible that the show will shift nights and/or go online as a streaming only commodity.

Yeah, Flynn is on the edge of being unhinged.

Or the Horseless Headsman:

Ir was the style of the day, but yes, she wore it well.
