David Rittenhouse would almost certainly have been capable of creating the elaborate clockwork mechanism we saw.

They should just go ahead and have Flynn's henchmen wear red shirts…

I agree. We keep hearing about how Rittenhouse's evil plans are worse than what Flynn is doing. At some point as need to be clued in on what those plans are. They funded the project for a reason, and though we don't know what that is just yet, I'm guessing it wasn't to have history remain static.

I agree with you on the the reviewer's comments. Did she watch the same show the rest of us watched? Also, missing a review due to a scheduling error and laughing it off as "two for the price of one" tells me she's not really taking it seriously.

There was the whole reporting by phone in the past in "Watergate Tape," but I'm not entirely sure that was an intentional reference.

I gathered from the comment Rufus made in the pilot that the rule is that they can't interact with their past selves or their own timelines. Even the knowledge of what your future looks like can affect what you decide to do on the way there.

While some have problems with the screenwriting at this point, I think it's still holding up fairly well. One problem with time travel stories is that it's really easy to write yourself into a corner, sort of like with the concept of time travel itself. Every action in the past creates a change in the present, often

Curious if we're going to see a review for episode eight.

I'm guessing the writer just hasn't submitted anything.

Nothing. Zip. Nada.

He'd ask for seconds and a side of boudin.

I think Rufus might get away with it this time, since they were captured by both the French and the Shawnee. He could easily say they took it. But I doubt he'd be able to get away with it a third time.

This kind of show seems to not do well with episodes being out of order, but this week's edition could stand alone for the most part.

A few emails to AV Club as to the absence of a review haven't yet been answered.

Yes, they usually have the reviews up at least by the next morning.

No episode 7??

nd they hold the record for the longest town name in the world, ar 56 letters: Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch!

Ydych yn dweud bod fel y mae yn beth drwg.

I remember Dustin Hoffman's narration in "Little Big Man." At one point he addresses the dog as cuisine issue. His conclusion, much better grilled than fried. Too greasy fried.

Personality goes a long way
