I'm a firefighter. PLEASE for your safety buy a fake/artificial or at the very least a tree that is treated with a fire retardent. Regular tree are a huge cause for fires during the holiday. Fake trees may not look or smell as nice but at least they have less of a chance of you locing your home to a fire.

my 2 cents if my department wouldn't let me put it out i would have grabbed a hose and done it myself. but on the flip side its kind of like paying your taxes. if you dont pay them why should you be allowed to reap the benefits?

this is seriously awesome. I have been firefighting for 2 years now and I love to maintain the old and tradition in any way I can. for example I still use a leather helmet as opposed to composite. and I still carry an axe with a hickory handle. I think Giz should show how the leather helmets are made.

@Baby Beater Benz: also if you look it up 25 years ago on an aircraft carrier i believe 3 people were killed and several lost limbs when i stop cable for the the jets snapped. just saying we dont know the size of the cables or the tension being exerted on them.
