I'll tell you that it was an absolutely life saver in SE Texas last summer. We easily cut our electric bill by $30 a month overall. And that was with having had a programed thermostat before.

I don't know that it's lazy to want to save money. Over a two year span, I'll be saving about $720 over what I spent before on my heating and cooling bill before I had my Nest. That's assuming that the cost of electricity doesn't go up. At all.

Well, considering that I've managed to reduce my electric bill by enough every month in a single year to pay that $250, I think it's been a great investment. It does far more than just make your house cooler/warmer. It knows how to actually shut down the refrigeration process while still running the fan over the cold

That's a particularly bad analogy because you don't continue to pay for the lollipop a percentage of the original cost throughout your time using it.

But there are many better hinge to do with your money than pay a bank interest every single month for something that becomes less valuable every time you use it.

Yup. Great feeling of accomplishment, and a fair amount of tugging at the back of the waist to keep them up. ;)

I'm in the "Evernote and Smartphone" camp. OCRA works fine, reciepts are searchable, and for any document tha isn't 12+ pages long it's plenty fast.

Tweetbot on Mac is great. I don't think it's better than Twitteriffic on iOS, though.

I dunno. In my part of Texas, at the right time of year, just opening the door for more than a couple seconds results in mosquitos in the house. Though, setting it on a timer should be no problem. Amazon has tons of them.

It's sliced american cheese which, without being placed on something hot, looks more or less like the white american cheese at subway, and is at least of a slightly higher quality than the garbage craft singles junk.

This is, literally, the last thing in the world that would motivate me to get out of bed. It would, however, make me throw my phone across the room.

Free equivalent is GIMP, Pixelmator is also a good, inexpensive option for those on OS X.

Bravo!

So... We're going on a technicality tha we can't use free utilities? Okay.

It seems to me that this is how WOMEN talk about women. I don't know any men who talk about women like this.

Because?

Mute it. Then stop watching after the jump. There is no value in the video other than watching the jump (which actually turns out well) and the crash (which obviously doesn't, though it's hard to see).

It does. In retrospect it's among the worst we've ever had because of our lack of experience, but the significance and newness made it exciting and is still a memory that is about much more than the prowess (or lack there of) that we exhibited.

I remember who I was with. I remember where I was. I remember the date. I can tell you within about thirty minutes of the time. I know what both of us were wearing. I recall the meal I had before and after. There aren't many details I don't remember. Because it was my wedding night, with my wife, seven years ago in
