I don’t understand why there are apparently only like six people on the planet capable of assembling and running a functioning NBA team for any extended period of time (and one of those is roughly a hundred years old).

If the Raptors win Trump is out and Canada gets put in charge, that should clean things up in a hurry.

The “nobody:” joke makes no sense when used in this context, yet half these tweets are using it anyway.

It’s either that or he enters the Keith Richards zone and lives to be a thousand.

I feel like there’s a pornhub joke in here, somewhere.

Today in “human beings perplexingly defending other human beings that were being assholes” ...

Today in “human beings are selfish assholes” ...

I don’t think I’ve ever paid for a boxing or MMA match, but I’ve watched and enjoyed both, so I’m culpable too. As I learn more and more about both how corrupt these industries are and how insanely bad for you getting whacked in the head is, I become less comfortable with my support.

I’m kind of unsure how to reconcile “people have a right to do what they want with their lives, even if it is punching / getting punched in the head in a professional setting” and “we probably shouldn’t allow, let alone celebrate, people punching each other in the head.”

I’m thinking she meant “no one who is accused of this kind of thing and then immediately hangs themselves is innocent” which is still problematic (and not necessarily true), but at least more explicable than a blanket belief that anyone who hangs themselves is guilty of something.

LeBron absolutely should’ve won finals MVP in 2015. He was by a wide margin the best player in that series. I remember Marc Stein hemming and hawing and finally tweeting that he’d voted for Iguodala and just getting *dragged* for it in the replies. I believe I called him a coward, and I was being more pleasant than

I remember Rip Hamilton, back during the Pistons’ championship-and-then-almost-another-one run, talking about how he specifically trained to run more than most NBA guys do because it meant he could just torture his defender with endless weaving and cutting until he finally got an open look. This is like that, only if H

I watched the game. As another commenter points out, the Raptors were the better team for 1 and a half quarters. That’s fine - that’s all it took. I was rooting for them to win! But that was not a dominant performance. After that first quarter, the lead never felt safe, and it never felt like the Bucks weren’t in the

Ah yes, the classic “dominant performance” where the home team needs a pair of free throws in the final seconds in order to be sure they don’t get taken to overtime.

My favorite Leonard defensive play from last night was when he knocked the ball out of the hands of a driving player (I don’t remember who - mighta been Giannis) and it popped straight up, and Leonard just reached up and grabbed the thing out of the fucking air with one hand like it was a tennis ball. Didn’t leave his

I don’t have the first-hand knowledge to dispute or agree with this article or with those in the comments disagreeing with it, but I thought it was interesting and at very least gives a look at some of the really repugnant ways black people were and still are shamed or outright persecuted for things that white people g

Zion’s a better athlete than Blake ever was

I looked at rookie Blake’s numbers and then discounted them a bit because rookie Blake was two years older than Zion when he finally got to play, but that may’ve been a mistake because looking more closely, Blake couldn’t shoot worth a damn in his first couple of years.

If he ends up being on a rebuilding team, I could see him edging higher than 14 points just from usage. Deandre Ayton averaged over 16 ppg this year, for example. I know he can pass but three assists seems high to me right out the gate, especially if he’s on a team that can’t shoot.

Drew, I’m glad you survived your traumatic brain injury, and I deeply hope you never actually have a way to make up for everything you now owe your friends, family, and particularly your wife ... because that would mean something equally awful had happened to each of those people.
