I don't find the new Jettas boring. I consider them to be elegant. I think a lot of the current crop of Japanese cars look cartoonish. I had a Challenger and the gas prices were killing me so I bought a VW Jetta TDI, It looks pretty good, drives nice and I have yet to see less than 36 MPG per tank. Yes, diesel is more expensive than regular unleaded, but I can get 500 miles off 13 gallons of diesel versus 350 miles of of 16-18 gallons of regular.
