I go inside, stand around sweating for a few minutes, then hop in the shower.

It’s not a big deal. If it fails to read the key, you can still put it in the dash like a normal key to start the car.

Wow that is a lot of issues. I bought a 2011 x35d in July and mine has been rock solid so far. Hopefully the dealer can get them fixed for you.
