I don’t think you understand how irony works. You can’t just make false statements in response to nothing and have it make sense.

Something something woke broke arglebargle?
Not to mention people seem to think nepotism is just a Hollywood thing. People get jobs because of who their relatives are all the time. I would wager more then 50% of jobs world wide come less from your skills and more from who you know.
True, but I don’t think you realize just how hard “getting the interview” is for a random actor.
But getting the interview is most of the game in Hollywood. And if getting the interview isn’t a big deal, then the nepo babies should do just fine without their parent pulling strings to get them auditions.
This ignores everything outside of the interview itself, which is frequently a sticking point for me in these conversations. IGNORE the “last name got me an audition” talking point. You still get to live in the town where the industry exists. You still have a place to crash just about everywhere you go. You don’t have…
This sealioning crap is just boring, don’t act like a coward, just admit you don’t think hate crimes and hate speech aren’t a big deal. Not sure how acting like a complete moron helps your cause.
If anything, I would think being related to Eric Roberts would be something for an actor to overcome, not use a stepping stone to get ahead of others more deserving.
besides the hate crimes and the hate speech? Middlebrow action flicks, mostly redbox stuff.
I mean.... the man committed a series of violent hate crimes. I don’t see anyone calling for him to be “canceled” or boycotting the movie. I can still enjoy his performances in The Departed and The Other Guys, but I think it’s totally fair to keep bringing it up.
Seriously, why must repeatedly acting like a sack of shit give a guy a reputation??
no matter what qualms you have with the system, you much adhere to it
In initial reports it sounded like the camera setup (Baldwin firing the weapon directly at the camera itself) was unplanned, but wikipedia says they were moving the camera setup and he was demonstrating his actions; since they were moving the camera and not a couple feet away from the lens as they would be during the…
I’m not advocating piracy (especially wholesale and for-profit like Jetflicks), but there is an issue of big-business conglomerates using their outlets to strangle the market and siphon off a healthy profit before paying the artists. The consumer can feel powerless knowing the main legal way to watch a show they like…
About time.
Agree completely. The movie is only fitfully funny with some real groaners. The best jokes have little or nothing to do with Star Wars. The most inspired gag is the bad guys consulting the video tape of Spaceballs to find out what happened to the heroes.
Get Out was very tight but parts of it felt familiar (it didn’t help that I had watched “You’re Next” a few weeks earlier). I loved “Us” because it was genuinely baffling, like a bad dream. And I really loved Nope - it’s full of surprises, but the stuff with Stephen Yeun and the chimp (including his description of a…
Not at all. You can like or dislike a person without it being about race.
My first job, at age 15, I was told, ‘Oh, that’s just Cecil.’
So none of this surprises me in the least.
It’s going to take a while to disabuse men of their entitled behavior, especially when it come to their inappropriate behavior toward women. It’s been what? 200 millennia after all. I just wish it could translate to women’s experience in the real world.
