I kinda agree. Currently they have this weird mix between behaving like teenagers
and behaving like adults. That might make sense for older characters but
less so for 15/16 year olds.

He's not the protagonist. I'm not yet sure if he's even *a* protagonist.

David is actually a comatose mental patient who is near death and the show will end when he dies and finally realises it wasn't real and then he gets to heaven and finds out it was actually real but most of the people he imagined were angels and it wasn't real in a literal sense, it was all a metaphor, so…
