I put Groundhog Day on par with Roxanne.

Speaking of MacDowell, I have to chuckle that Sex, Lies, and Videotape is not on this list (rightly so). Spike Lee would like that, after that ridiculous Cannes kerfuffle that denied Do The Right Thing its rightful place as an all-time classic.

Empire is a very good movie. Eyes Wide Shut, in my view, not so much. But this is the top 100 of all time. If we’re talking good (or very good) movies, I’d be dropping in Repo Man, Paris, Texas, Night on Earth, Crooklyn, White Heat, Southern Comfort, My Own Private Idaho, Aliens, and several hundred more films on this

I say drop The Conversation. I’ve never understood the value so many see in this film. Hackman is better in so many other films. French Connection for one. Cazale is better in Dog Day Afternoon and Deerhunter. And if you want to talk Hackman, you have to put Unforgiven on this list.

They almost regard your privacy as a personal affront, on par with piracy or terrorism. Apple’s record on privacy and user control is superior to

Star Trek: WTF?!

Star Trek: Beyond Coherence.

My cousin caught a cold last winter. What about that, scientists?!

Also also, Rick and Morty’s first season writing staff (Roiland, Harmon, Tom Kauffman, Ryan Ridley, Wade Randolph, Eric Acosta) are all Channel 101 icons. Pillars of that community. As with Roiland and Harmon, it’s worth watching their stuff on Channel 101.
