@LiC: I watch every new Miyazake film that comes out still. But yeah even his stuff is losing its luster. Like Ponyo? That movie was absolutely insane. I will need to see it in Japanese to see if it was just the translation. Lucky for me my significant other is Japanese!

I used to love reading manga and watching anime. I used to watch fansubs I loved it so much. This was about 10 years ago, and somehow I drifted away. I guess I just could not find anything I really wanted to read.

True story. I went to fat camp. There are counselors that are really like that. I guess that is why Jillian Micheals does not intimidate me.

@gargle: My family is pretty Irish. We still have family over there, so I do know what you mean. They kind of lost touch though with their roots, and embrace the McDonaldization of Irish culture. I grew up near Edison. A lot of Indian children were teased for acting more "Indian" than "American". I would say that happened way more than just being bothered for being Indian. I went to HS with a sister and brother that were Indian. The girl had been to boarding school in India. The brother grew up here. Guess…

Has anyone heard of the butch bakery in NYC? It is run by a man who makes masculine cupcakes. No frosting just chocolate disks on top. Cupcake batter consists of things like beer + bacon.
