Well I was in Iraq and Afghanistan and you can’t just go around wearing them all the time, all kinds of noise. I was injured and it was a loud event, I was knocked out but I think that made one side worse, I get the ringing/tones sometimes. Even helos etc.. are loud and it all adds up.

If you google hearing damage/guns, a bunch of CDC articles come up (for civilians) and military studies about how gunfire is a big danger to hearing. I’m fairly certain this person has never fired a gun before if they don’t think it is a health issue around hearing.
Suppressors (aka “Silencers”) don’t actually silence the sound of a gunshot, despite what the movies may have you believe. A gun with a suppressor is still quite loud when fired. I still don’t think the new law should be passed, but if it is, it’s not like people are going to be walking around silently killing…
To be fair, guns still very much go BOOOOOOOM with a suppressor attached. Suppressors only reduce the sound a tiny amount.
