his insistence on "embracing electronica" wouldn't bother me as much if he hadn't long ago turned radiohead into "not ever a rock band anymore." i can't think of another band i've ever loved as much as i did radiohead through their third record (came around to kid a [especially 'side 2']; hated amnesiac; fucking LOVED

i swear to god i thought the waka flocka flame thing was going to be the first in a string of "ridiculous, i obviously am not esteeming these artists over all others" joke. wow.

i also rarely hear anyone mention that isabel sanford was nearly 21 years older than her tv husband, sherman hemsley.

is that anything like squonk?

i saw them 2 nights at radio city in '98, and despite no jimmy (probably the best technical musician ever to be in the band, and that's saying something considering how talented billy is), it was the best i ever saw them. different venue, perhaps, making the difference?

it's not my favorite record. it's actually my fourth-favorite pumpkins record.

first off, i don't think the 90s alt-rock world was all that narrow. to wit, some of my favorite records from that time were made by grant lee buffalo, juliana hatfield, geraldine fibbers, galaxie 500, björk, jeff buckley, faith no more, shudder to think, lotion and tori amos. but yes, i usually want to be moved by my

really? someone likes that show?

"bear."

so shut the fuck up and stop replying.

no, i really can't. sometimes the reasons you like something make liking something else impossible. within the grand scheme of 90s alt-rock, everything about pavement represents the opposite of everything about the smashing pumpkins.

"Tofurky" (although it should have the 'e'; i don't know why it doesn't).

not at all what i meant. i was referring to the practice of using the phrase "turkey day" as a slang shorthand for thanksgiving. the casual conflation of the torture and slaughter of a beautiful creature with a celebration just upsets me.

well luckily i have really no family to speak of, so holidays are pretty much meaningless to me.

as a vegetarian the whole "turkey day" thing really brings me down.

i actually love autumn produce, and, before i went veggie, thanksgiving fare like turkeymashedpotatoesgravystuffingpecanlie..and i HATE autumn.

methinks maybe he overrated his own talent/significance/popularity.

"Piscopo."

shame/nightmare/martha is a pretty amazing sequence of music.

i just realized i was trying to reason with you in that other thread, giving you the benefit of the doubt, when you're really just a complete dick.
