I am not an Anna Wintour fan, but this is epic level shade. She doesn’t even mention Melania, all she talks about is Michelle Obama and her style. To me, that’s worse than if Anna called Melania a tasteless harpy.
Teen Vogue does a better job of reporting - REPORTING - on politics than any other ‘news’ source other than Reuters and possibly the BBC.
Petty would have been if she would have picked out Melania’s outfits for minor reasons. She didn’t.
Rude would have been if Anna had called Melania out specifically for her sartorial missteps - she didn’t. She evades and pivots to talking about Michelle. Another website referred to it as ‘shade’ which is perhaps true but Anna is evading for a reason: she doesn’t want to explicitly criticize Melania. Yes Michelle had…
I was thinking the same thing till I remembered the “I really don’t care do U” jacket she wore to the visit the border where the kids were being jailed.
She’s an embarrassment.
The compliment here is explicitly to Michelle Obama’s decision-making. It’s her judgement that is being complimented.
She’s using her natural gifts for the greater good here :) I listened to the audio and died when the interviewer asked if she would help T with his sartorial issues and she said, “I think he is unlikely to call”. She avoided even referencing the names of the current first family. It’s truly masterful.
Michelle Obama had to choose her stylist and tailor did she not? Do you think she chose those who went against her fashion sense and style?
She wore on her first interview on The View a black and white Donna Ricco dress. I lucked into in a green and white version for my mom at Macy’s it was about $100 I got it for her for Mother’s day and she loved it, wore it that entire summer. If I am remembering correctly she wore dresses from Target as well.
While Michelle did wear some clothes by fancy ass designers she also wore off the rack clothes that some of us unwashed masses could wear as well.
But if you are the first lady of the USA I’m pretty sure it would be considered accessible - you know, vs a $60,000 designer jacket. Or would you prefer your first lady dress from Walmart? Nothing wrong with inexpensive clothing but we are talking degrees here yes?
Quibble with ‘wealth’ - she wore lots of off the rack - J. Crew etc.
Just because Michelle has money and designers doesn’t mean she wasn’t involved in choosing what she wore or who made those pieces, which is where her influence comes in and her taste shows. Melania, I’m sure, has designers and tailors and is still dressed like an embarrassment
That was so incredibly shady...and I live for it.
That was my immediate thought too.
Have to be honest, eleven years feels like a ridiculously long time to be bothered by the fact that your fiance and one of his best friends used to date, especially since in this case it would be well over a decade ago. Like what is the expectation and worry here exactly about at this point?
I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say the guy who doesn’t understand that it can be pleasurable to give pleasure to another isn’t very good in bed.
Meanwhile, folks ignore what’s actually (such children dying in concentration camps in America)
“we the best music” - incorrect!
