I think you’d get more of a positive reaction to a show about a PI that was a woman of color than a Nancy Drew reboot minus the whole teenage angle.

That would be awesome. I don’t care that they’re updating the series to make Nancy a WOC, but it really annoys me that they’re making her a cop in her 30s. What the point of having a series featuring Nancy Drew if she makes for The Man?

I like my lady private detectives teenagers like Veronica Mars (or... I don’t know NANCY DREW) or elderly serial killers like Angela Lansbury. Nothing in between.

What the hell? Why are they making her a 30-something? The whole point is that she’s a teenager. Ugh. It’d be cool if they got someone like Zendaya to star in a Nancy Drew series (not actually her probably since she's in some show about a teen spy, but you know what I mean)

Veronica Mars was basically Nancy Drew! This series doesn’t sound like Nancy Drew at all, just another crime-solving procedural.

Ned most def fucked the HARDy boys.

Right?

You seem very angry over an Internet forum. You should try a nap or a beer. It's a bunch of people talking on the internet who aren't involved in the case at all and you just argued with a lawyer because you've been on a jury. Chill.

As an FYI, having a connection to a LEO is not, in and of itself, “cause.” Which is problematic in small town jury selection.

If you can't handle a discussion forum, leave. People are allowed to discuss this case, people can have opinions. That's not them acting like legal experts.

Am lawyer. Can confirm.

I agree. I had the same takeaway from Serial. Maybe those guys are murderers, maybe they aren’t, but how on earth would a jury come away with no reasonable doubt? And WHY WHY WHY was the sheriff’s office still involved when they could have so easily turned everything over to the victim’s county law enforcement?!?! And

The defense was only allowed to toss out six potential jurors. You are aware of that, right? That they don’t get an unlimited amount of people to throw out of the jury?

He may be guilty, but there was planted evidence that the prosecutor even acknowledged during his closing arguments! This case had so much reasonable doubt it is insane.

That’s about the size of it. Especially when at the outset of the deliberations, seven people were voting not guilty, two were undecided, three were for guilty, some jurors had connections to the police department, and they ended up convicting him of the murder but not of the corpse desecration charge. There was fucky

I know it’s been said, many times many ways, but the impression that I got from the doc wasn’t so much that Avery was definitely innocent, but just that the investigation and trial were messed up enough to warrant a second look.

The show pisses off MRAs? Add 10 bonus points to what was already a pretty perfect series.

You know she didn’t hang that shirt on a wire hanger!

And how is Obama going to pardon someone convicted of a non-federal crime? What B- civics student wrote that petition?
