Respect. I understand this, particularly when it comes to Messing’s situation (though I wish she was more aware, or that a more woke celebrity had been chosen for such a mission). My comment speaks more to the “average” person doing work in Africa, etc. I’m a teacher. I don’t post tons of pictures of my students to

Pretty sure you’ve misunderstood me. I was agreeing with Kara about the fact that you don’t see white people going to France, Spain, Australia, etc. and taking pictures with economically disadvantaged kids there. This seems to be a thing that almost exclusively happens with white people and people/children of color.

So much yes to this. Especially re: white people visiting European countries.

When my BFF wanted to watch this together, I told her, “Eh, I don’t think I’m going to like it. Neither Channing Tatum nor male strippers really do much for me.” But then I gave in and watched the movie. The scene where Tatum dances to “Pony”? Um yeah, I’m okay with both Tatum and male strippers now.

All good! No worries.

Going on four years of therapy, thank you. I suggest you do the same. I hear they’re working on fitting the “belief in and adherence to the construct of masculinity” in the ICD under brainwashing. It’s gonna be a tough road for you.

Obviously. I’m 31. I’ve spent time outside of college. And the times I have been sexually assaulted were in the “real world.”

I’m a current grad student at UT, and I have to say that as a woman I am totally afraid of walking around campus in the evening. Any time I’m there after the sun goes down, I’m looking over my shoulders and holding my phone, just in case. Of course, that’s true for everywhere I go at night because I’m a woman, but

You know, I was giving in for a second, thinking that it was all over. But I’m with you. And you just inspired me to donate more.

False. I have a teal accent wall. I painted it that color, and I love it. You can still have some of my adderall, though. I like everything else you said.

Amen to that. Went to Catholic school my entire life (minus college), and I am now an atheist.

Same here. I attended Catholic school from PreK-senior year, so basically my entire education minus college. In total, there were about five nuns—two in elementary school and three at my high school. One of them was my fifth grade teacher, and she was verbally abusive to my classmates. But she was also kind of cool:

PREACH!

Fellow Austinite—just wanted to say that I love your username. Probably a little narcissistic of me, but whatever!

Holy shit—I went to summer camp with the woman in that picture. We were kids back then, obviously. But what a small fucking world.
