I think this box set is awesome, though I've been a big Adore fan. It doesn't represent the spectrum of their sound but it may their best record from a pure songwriting perspective. Some nice lyrics too on a number of songs.

I watched all the Paradise Lost movies and always had this really creepy feeling. I didn't really feel that they were guilty, and there were undeniably a lot of bozos surrounding the case, but I guess I never felt 100% confident of their innocence like so many people. I was kind of disturbed by all the Damien Echols…
I confess I only knew this guy as the creepy dude from The House of the Devil

Exactly. There is something truly off-putting about aging hipster types who are bullishly assertive in their apparent belief that sloppy lo-fi garage rock is the absolute pinnacle of all music, no questions asked. Of course, some of that stuff is absolutely fantastic, but fuck off if you're going to turn your nose up…
Got kinda pissed while watching that Color Me Obsessed documentary with all these humorless self-serious windbags dismissing everything the Replacements did after Let it Be or even Hootenanny. It's like, lose the fucking uber-opinionated pseudo punk shtick and just enjoy some damn good music for once in your life.
Always bet on black
Sometimes we even called him… asshole
