NEW BEAUTY COLUMN?

Serious question: does the Black Lives Matter movement have a set position on whether they want white people at their protests or not? I’ve read several high profile articles both ways. I’ll admit to staying away, in part because I’ve read several impassioned pieces saying that I shouldn’t go.

I work for an advocacy organization. We all went to the march, with our friends and our families.

No, cause that’s not the main complaint. The main complaint is that some people are supporting one cause (that just happens to mainly apply to them), while actively denigrating other causes (that just happen to not effect them at all). You can attend the Womens March and not attend the BLM march. It’s not ideal but no

It’s worth remembering that white women as a demographic went for Trump, but individual white women who didn’t vote for him shouldn’t be held accountable for that just as all black people shouldn’t be held accountable for a black individual committing a crime, and Muslim communities shouldn’t have to answer as a whole

I’m of two minds on this. On one hand, yes, where was this level of visible outrage around black lives matter and standing rock? On the other hand, does the very nature of being a woman automatically include you in the outrage of ALL disenfranchised peoples? Is one only given “cred” when they express outrage and

Uh... you know that diverse groups have diverse opinions and people get to voice them. Progressive people tend to get this. It’s not “infighting” or “eating your own” or whatever else detractors want to call it. Our diverse movement can support and respect multiple opinions at the same time - even ones individuals

My undergrad. college roommate posted a photo of her 11 year-old daughter sewing a pussy hat out of pink fleece on FB this weekend. One of her relatives (her father’s cousin, I believe) asked my friend why she thought it was appropriate for her young daughter to be advocating for late-term abortion (weirdly specific,

I came across a woman in the comments of an Instagram post from this weekend’s New York City march, and it took me all my strength not to engage. Her brilliant claim was:

“Which rights do men have currently that women don’t have? What are you complaining about?”

What I took away from it is that we’re only allowed to be dissatisfied with one thing at a time, and one thing only!

Can I just say that I have had this conversation several times now with conservative leaning friends(who by the way are not bad people.) And they keep saying “Donald Trump won and the left needs to just get over it already. This won’t change a thing.” And my reply is as follows. The protests absolutely can and will

i knew that he wouldn’t do it, because he said that he would.

Hilariously, Wikileaks has declared an interest in having a whistleblower contact them so that they can leak it. Now. Yes, really. After everything. Particularly after Assange’s pledge to leave the embassy’s protection fell apart after he did that embarrassing backpedal. All of it. I know. I know. Yes, crabs. Barrel.

Wooooo Go Sportsball!!

OMG you missed the cutest woke man there.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas...

these scotch ties are james macavoy’s problem, not ours.

He never gets held accountable for anything, so I would guess he thinks he can get away with it yet again.
