@31337h4ck3r: I usually leave mine in the plastic if I don't tear up the bag when opening it the first time. The main thing is to keep them in an air-tight container and dry because moisture encourages mold. The paper towels might be okay, but I would replace them if they get damp. Otherwise they are trapping moisture

@terabitten: I usually check in on Friday evening just for latecomers.

@31337h4ck3r: Sealed and refrigerated to reduce the possibility of mold growth. The downside is that refrigeration affects the flavor in my opinion.

@AmphetamineCrown: Aw, I wish I had a local roaster! I live in rural Kansas, though.

@Flail: I need to get back to the hundred push-ups program. (I do the push-ups with my legs on a stability ball to engage my core.) I need to find some sort of indoor aerobic exercise, too, though.

What is your favorite brand/roast/flavor of coffee? I like World Market's Italian Roast.

@Link: That's great! What features are better?

Baking with the coffee/chocolate combo makes the normal chocolate cake taste richer and more like dark chocolate. (It is possible to get the flavor enhancement without actually tasting coffee in the cake.) Last time we had snack day at the office, my Mocha Layer Cake only lasted 30-40 minutes from when I set it out.

If you use nonstick cookware, be sure to keep metal utensils and abrasive cleaners away from it because they will destroy the finish. Personally, I prefer stainless steel for most cookware because it is long-lasting and easily cleaned with a sprinkle of Barkeeper's Friend. I do prefer nonstick muffin pans, though.

I have several of these in my apartment for offices supplies (in the tiny studio/guest room/office), toiletries (in the closet-sized bathroom), and food staples (in the pantry).

We're required to store our laptops in cabinets at night (most of us don't have desktop towers) and strongly advised to take them home. Three years ago, we had a flood that cut the factory where I work off from the nearest two towns, so management wants to be sure that we could login and work from home if another

@rolltimer: Me too! I'm considering joining a coffee club or something that will frequently ship me quality coffee at a reasonable price... not sure if it exists though.

@steveshooman: I was a Pushing Daisies fan, but don't regret getting involved. The few short months we had were charming and whimsical and I will always remember it fondly. :)

@robmcbell: Absolutely! Thanks to my Aeropress and gas stove, I can make coffee when my apartment complex's power goes out.

@Super Happy Hats!: My favorite so far is the Italian Roast from World Market.

@ReticulatedJig: I have an Aeropress, too, and I love it! Best coffee I have ever had. I've been recommending it to all the college students I know since their dorms won't let them have coffeemakers but they do have access to microwaves (go figure). I'm giving one to my brother for his birthday on Sunday.

I have a wide, single sink with a garbage disposal in my rental apartment, but prefer the functionality of a double sink. I place a rectangular dishpan in the sink, taking up about half of it. That way I can wash dishes in the dishpan while leaving the other side of the sink free for scrap disposal or rinsing.

Storing apples and carrots near each other will also make both turn bitter.

@kellanpan: I listen to podcasts when driving alone. My favorites are "Case Closed!" old-time mystery/crime radio shows. I find the sound effects and different actors' voices more mentally engaging than audiobooks with only one reader, plus I like to laugh at the overdramatic, overstated overacting and cheesy lines.
